/// CONNECT A PROVIDER / GARAGE
Garage
Garage is a self-hosted, S3-compatible store that is intentionally minimal. Point storafleet at your Garage S3 endpoint with a key your operator creates.
What you need
- A Key ID and Secret key from your operator.
- Your Garage S3 endpoint URL, e.g.
https://garage.your-domain.com. - The region — this must match the server's configured
s3_region(usuallygarage).
Get your credentials
- Ask your operator to run
garage key create <name>. - The command prints a Key ID (it starts with
GK…) and a Secret key. - The Secret key is shown once — the operator gives you both values.
Endpoint & region
Your endpoint is your Garage S3 endpoint, e.g. https://garage.your-domain.com. The region must match the server's configured s3_region.
Connect the Fleet
- From the Fleet page, click Create Fleet and pick Access Keys.
- Paste the Key ID and Secret key from your operator.
- Set your endpoint to your Garage S3 endpoint (e.g.
https://garage.your-domain.com) and set the region to your configureds3_region. - Connect using path-style addressing. If your endpoint uses a private-CA or self-signed HTTPS certificate, provide a CA bundle so storafleet can verify the connection.
Supported features
Garage supports CORS and lifecycle expiration. It is intentionally minimal, so versioning, bucket policies, object tags, storage classes, and Object Lock are not available.
The region MUST match the server's configured
s3_region — for Garage this is usually garage, NOT us-east-1. Garage is intentionally minimal and returns 501 for unimplemented endpoints.
