FEATURES / Versioning
/// Versioning
Every version. Recoverable in one click.
Browse the full version history of any object. Restore previous versions, remove delete markers, and bulk-delete old versions that are silently inflating your storage bill.
Start for freeEvery version of every file. Timeline view. Restore in one click.
/// How it works
Browse any versioned bucket
Select a bucket with versioning enabled. Storafleet shows all objects with their version count. Click any object to open its full version timeline.
Review the version history
The timeline shows every version chronologically: version ID, upload date, size, and any delete markers. The current version is marked clearly.
Restore, delete, or clean up
Restore a previous version to current in one click. Delete specific old versions to cut costs. Remove delete markers to recover deleted objects.
Visual version timeline
Every version of every object shown as a chronological timeline — version ID, timestamp, size, and delete markers. No CLI required to browse history.
One-click restore
Restore any previous version to current with a single click. Storafleet promotes the selected version without you touching the AWS Console or running aws s3api commands.
Delete markers explained
Versioned buckets use delete markers instead of true deletion. Storafleet shows delete markers clearly in the timeline and lets you remove them to un-delete objects.
Version cost visibility
See exactly how much storage old versions are consuming and what they cost per month. Bulk delete old versions in one action — stop paying for history you don't need.
Enable versioning visually
Turn versioning on or off for any bucket without navigating the AWS Console bucket properties. Status shown clearly — Enabled, Suspended, or Never enabled.
Browse all versions by prefix
Filter the version timeline by object key prefix. Find the version history for a specific folder path without listing every object in a large bucket.
/// Without Storafleet
Versioning is on but accessing old versions requires the CLI or 8 Console clicks per object. Old versions accumulate silently and inflate your bill.
- Accessing a specific version requires aws s3api list-object-versions — not beginner-friendly
- Delete markers are invisible in the Console's default object view — deleted objects just disappear
- No way to see how much old versions cost without running S3 Inventory queries
- Restoring a version requires copying it back — not a 'restore' button
- Bulk-deleting old versions requires scripting or third-party tools
/// With Storafleet
A visual version timeline. Browse history, restore any version, clean up old versions — all in one view.
- Chronological version timeline for every object — click to open, no CLI
- Delete markers shown explicitly with their own row in the timeline
- Per-object version cost shown with total old-version spend and monthly estimate
- One-click restore promotes any version to current without you writing any API calls
- Bulk cleanup: delete all versions older than N days across a bucket in one action
/// When you'll use this
Recovering an accidentally overwritten config file
A deployment script overwrote the wrong config file in S3. The old version is still there — versioning was on. You open Storafleet, find the config file, click the version from before the deployment, hit restore. Production is back to the correct state in under a minute.

Cutting costs from accumulated old versions
Versioning has been on for 18 months. Old versions are costing $47/month and nobody's looked at them in a year. Storafleet shows the cost breakdown per file, you select 'Delete all versions older than 90 days', confirm, done. Bill drops immediately.

Recovering a user-deleted file
A user deleted their uploaded document through your app. What actually happened: S3 created a delete marker. You find the object in Storafleet, remove the delete marker, and the file reappears. No data was lost. You recover it without touching a database or backup.
